Able Telcom Holding Corp. Announces Sirit Litigation Verdict.

Able Telcom Holding Corp. (Nasdaq: ABTE) announced today that its litigation with Sirit Technologies, Inc. has resulted in an award against Able in the amount of $1.2 million in compensatory damages. In addition, punitive damages were assessed against Able in the amount of $30 million and $1.3 million against the investment banker who represented Able in its acquisition of MFSNT in 1998 and who has an indemnification agreement from Able.

Sirit filed suit in May 1998, alleging that Able interfered with Sirit's opportunity to acquire MFSNT from WorldCom.

According to Billy V. Ray, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Able, "We believed and continue to believe that the suit was without merit. We intend to pursue our legal remedies to reduce or eliminate these awards."
